🌿CHILDREN AND ESSENTIAL OIL:
PEPPERMINT ESSENTIAL OIL BENEFITS

Let’s get started with peppermint essential oil benefits.  Many essential oils available in the industry contain filler substances and contaminants that weaken the purity and power of the oil. However, at dōTERRA, we know that a pure bottle of essential oil has the potential to change lives; that’s why dōTERRA’s mission is to provide essential oils that are highly effective and free of additives and harmful contaminants. I only use dōTERRA essential oils for my family because of their purity.

Peppermint essential oil can be used all three ways – aromatic (when you need a deep breath), topical (addressing a specific spot), and internally (whole body reboot).

The great flavor of Peppermint essential oil makes it a popular oil to take internally. In fact, Peppermint is the most popular essential oil used in the food industry thanks to its pleasant, refreshing taste.

Peppermint drink

Peppermint oil makes a healthy addition to any drink because it helps promote healthy respiratory function and clear breathing, and by adding dōTERRA Peppermint oil to something as simple as the water you drink, you encourage healthy respiratory function in your body while simultaneously changing up the flavor to your drink. You can add a drop of Peppermint to your favorite smoothie recipe or to a protein shake for a refreshing twist. Peppermint oil also turns plain water into a cooling and refreshing treat.

My kids love when we add a couple of drops of Peppermint to our brownie mix. That minty flavor is so delicious! Or, when the summer heat seems to overwhelm you, add one drop of Peppermint oil with a cut fruit like strawberries or limes for a deliciously infused water.

To freshen breath and ease occasional indigestion for you or you kids/teens, dissolve a Peppermint Beadlet in your mouth or add one to two drops of Peppermint to a glass of water and drink. When taken internally, Peppermint may help ease nausea and motion sickness.

We love to travel, but my son can get car sick. I typically carry the touch version with me.  The touch version is already diluted so safe on kids. Before a long car ride, he will rub this (usually making it like a bulleye) over his belly.  This helps his car sickness from becoming a thing.

Peppermint essential oil also supports the respiratory system. Inhaling Peppermint helps promote feelings of clear airways and easy breathing.

Peppermint & Wild Orange

Diffuse or inhale Peppermint when you’re feeling tired, anxious, or unfocused. For a morning energy boost, rub Peppermint Touch on your temples after you wake up. Throughout the day, apply Peppermint Touch to relieve feelings of head tension, to increase a sense of alertness and concentration, and to soothe anxious feelings.

As a homeschool mom, I love diffusing this oil.  I pair it with Wild Orange in the diffuser and it is our Energy and Focus blend.  When my kids attended school, I made this into a roller so they could use before a test or in the afternoon slump.

Peppermint essential oil has strong emotional benefits. It’s popularly used to reduce sad and anxious feelings, calm emotions, soothe away tension, and relieve restlessness.

Peppermint has a cooling effect and as a mom this has helped me from running to the store in the middle of the night when my child has broken out into a fever.  We all know a fever is your body’s way to fight off whatever is attacking it but we also don’t like seeing our littles this way.  Instead of reaching for an over-the-counter medication, reach for your peppermint.  Again, the touch version is going to work best since it is diluted and rub it along their spine.  This saves you time and money.  As a busy mom, I’m sure you can appreciate both!

In the summer, another kid favorite is to get a spray bottle and add water and a drop of peppermint.  When they are outside getting so hot, they will spray themselves down with this mixture to cool down.  Just make sure they are old enough NOT to spray in their eyes or they will be crying!!

That’s all I have for you today.  I hope you learned some tops on peppermint essential oil benefits.
